Temperature problem on my Brinsea 20

I have a Brinsea 20 advance and I have a little problem with the temperature alarm. I set HI and LO alarm at 1.8˚F from desired temperature(99.6˚F) and when I took the lid off the bator to candle my eggs the alarm doesn't sound, Why?

My alarm has NEVER worked on mine from the day I got it.

But I suppose it only works when the lid is in place.

GEe if the alarm doesn't work, maybe you should email Brinsea & find out why!!! They should have a customer service person that should be able to answer you question
