I looked up at him with tear filled eyes. No. I muttered.
What happened? He asked, his voice slightly annoyed.
Child Services took my brother I sobbed, resting my head on my knees.
Josh rolled his eyes. All youve done is complain. Maybe you could come to dinner, and actually try to have fun!? He said, motioning to a dark green truck parked in the driveway.
I wiped away my tears, and stood up. Youre right. I sighed, walking to the truck.
Josh smirked I know. He said, getting in the drivers seat.
I opened the passenger door, and hopped in. So, where are we going? I asked.
Josh shrugged. Well drive around and look. He said, pulling out of the driveway.
I nodded Okay I sighed, looking out the window.
We drove around for a bit until Josh pulled the car into a McDonalds parking lot.
Were here. He said, jumping out of the truck, and running inside.
I sat in the truck, shocked for a moment. Oh, umm Okay. I mumbled, slowly following him.
Josh ordered two burgers, and we took our seats. So, hows school going? I asked.
Okay, I guess. Hey look, Kristens throwing a huge party tonight. I thought maybe we could go? He said, looking excited.
Oh I sighed. I wasnt read to go to a party after losing my brother. Yeah, sounds fun! I said.
Great! He said.
The employee called our number, and I stood to get our food. Thanks! I told her, taking the tray back to our table. Josh inhaled his burger within seconds. I laughed, and soon finished mine.
Ready to go? He asked, noticing I had finished.
I nodded. Yup! I said.
We got back into the truck, and headed out for Kristens party.
Once we arrived, I stepped out of the truck and walked in the door, which was wide open. There were kids drinking. It reminded me of Jennas party.
Oh, hey Cally! Kristen said when Josh and I walked in.
Hi! I said.
Go to the back of the house. She said, pointing down a hall.
Why? I asked.
Just do it! She smiled.
I nodded, and left Josh at the party while I walked down the hall. It was small, and dark. I finally found a lit up room at the end, and opened the door. There I found Jenna.
Hey, Cally! She called.
I stared at her, stunned. She was getting a tattoo. Are you Okay?! I asked, walking up to her.
Totally fine! Youre getting one next! She squealed.
