Truly, I cannot wait to meet you all. Ya sound nearly as goofy as I am!

Guess I'm pretty lucky right now - my coop is too small to even consider getting any more so I can sit back and relax and watch you all fight over who gets what/when!!!

It was snowing here sticking on everything but then it changed over to rain thankfully and washed all that junk away.
believer01 needs us to all bring one small piece of wood or a few nails...got to get working on a bigger coop.

We are just finishing our Rustic chicken house for under $200 and it's 8x16 can't wait to begin using it..really need the space so I can get more breeding pens together. Those of you that have seen it knows its not cute or pretty but will be happy home to several chickies I already have the next two planned another same size for my bantams and one just for brooder pens so I don't have to have them in my basement

of coarse when you are a builder by trade....maybe by 2020 it will be done

Beautiful snow, Stanglover!!! Ours only lasted 5 min, didn't stick at all.

And thank you HB (are you Holly?) for the wood/nail idea! I love it! Course, having the material is only part of the problem....gotta have the back and arms to use them. Our horses made sure that mine won't work properly so I just do a little bit at a time. Right now I'm waiting for the weather to break so I can work on the baby greenhouse I've been putting together since early Dec (right before the high winds came and messed it up!).

I was about to offer to let some folks stay with us if it was too far a drive back home Sat night, when I got an invitation to a friends Surprise 50th birthday party. Thankfully, it's being held just a few blocks from where our group is meeting. So I'll have two nifty things to do that day! Just got to find someone to come close up my chicken coop at dark....and remember to put the dogs in the barn before I leave....and......well, you all know how that goes! It's like pick up sticks trying to coordinate everything - first this, then that........

Darn SNOW!! lol
Still going over here, and it's starting to become packed. My DH slid up the hill, then back down then on the driveway (gravel).

He had the worst time coming home, everyone was going UNDER the speed limit, cutting him off, bright lighting him, and it took him forever to get home.... So to all the oak ridge and oliver springs drivers... please, just stay home if you're afraid of clear road conditions and snow.

poor thing is still fuming.

Where is Oliver Springs? I am in Portland, seven miles south of Ky.line on I 65 and its just started here and almost got the ground white then stopped.
Strangle looks like you better put a prop up pole under that netting on your run ,if not its liable to colapse and bring down the whole run! Been there done that!lol

Oliver springs is 30 mins west of knoxville.
Well we had a rope holding it up and DH didn't think it was necessacy and took it down because it was pulling the walls toward each other... it's deer netting, it's supposed to be really strong and uv resistant. I'm not sure if it will fall, last sleet/rain we had there was ice cycles (sp) hanging from it. I'll keep a close watch on it though

it really doesn't do anything but deter animals in the air from swooping down and taking a chicken.
