Must use Some Easter Candy and be made with edible materials (except the tray it's on)

A panel of Judges will pick the winner, the judges ruling is final.

This contest is for photos of poultry eggs in their natural state, no dyeing or other altering allowed.
The eggs can be from chickens, ducks, turkeys, geese, swans, quail, guineas, peafowl, pheasants, or any other type of poultry. Use as many different types together as you wish. Take photos of your eggs in interesting arrangements and settings for the best chance of winning.

Contest Rules:

• This contest is open to all BYC members, but the physical prizes can only be shipped inside the continental United States. Members outside the US that win a physical prize will receive a PFM instead.
• Some prizes will not be awarded to winners under the age of 18, for example, hatching eggs. In that situation, a PFM will be substituted for the prize.
• Your submission must be your own photograph and cannot have been entered in other contests.
• Maximum of two (2) entries per person. An entry consists of one (1) photograph. One entry per post, please.
• No editing other than basic cropping and similar processes. We want to see the world through your eyes, er, camera lens; not through the excessive use of editing tools. No captions or watermarks either, please.
• To submit your entries, simply post your images in this thread.
• Winners will be chosen by a panel of judges. Their decision will be final.
• BYC Administration reserves the right to disqualify entries/posts not following the rules.
• All BYC rules apply: Terms of Service (Rules)
• This contest is void where prohibited.

The Appenzeller Spitzhauben

With their characteristic forward sweeping crest, the Appenzeller Spitzhauben is an unusual looking bird. The breed originated in the Appenzell canton of northeast Switzerland and seem to date as far back as the 16th century, where similar birds are described as being developed in the local monasteries. Switzerland considers the Appenzeller Spitzhauben to be the national chicken of their country and the breed takes their name from the ceremonial hats worn by woman of the region, called Spitzhauben (pointed hood) which are reminiscent of the breeds large forward sweeping crest.

The breed fell into disfavor after WWII and was at the brink of extinction when a German breeder, Kurt Fischer, imported all three of the original colors (black, golden spangled and silver spangled) into Germany in 1953, he is credited with saving the breed. The silver spangled version was also imported in to the US in the 1950’s, and it is the primary color found in the US today. The breed is not currently recognized by the APA, but is in the UK.

Besides the characteristic crest, Appenzeller Spitzhauben have "V" combs, blue legs, and white skin. They are rather small birds, are very active and alert, and are good flyers and foragers. They do not take well to close confinement. They are cold hardy, and though they are primarily an ornamental breed today, the hens are good layers of medium-large sized eggs and are non-setters.
