Thank you. I'm a mom of five. Two grown and out of the house, three younger ones at home. Hoping for coffee and chocolate chip cookies in bed tomorrow. That was my secret request anyhow.

We'd like to find a place as you've describe, similar to where we are now. Rolling hills, trees....but no wind. Does that even exist? Our little town has one four way stop. The nearest bigger town is a 35 min. drive. That's where we go to the grocery and feed store. For the big stores like Costco, Walmart, etc. we have to drive an hour 15 mins. I have to say, I'm getting tired of driving. We spend $500-600 a month on gas. Housing prices are ridiculous here. We own our home, but to move closer to town, we'd have to downsize considerably and I don't think we could find some place to accommodate the animals at the price we can afford.

Well I think you'll find something very much like what you want here in Texas. Just gotta look hard!

These are my 5 babies... Well not so small anymore. They are 5 weeks old in these pics. Taken about a week ago. My unfeathered children have taken most of my time this week. So it took so long to post. Also Happy Mother's Day to all the moms

You definitely want the Austin area then! There's so much wind up here by Dallas...and NO hills.
And you don't want Houston...so humid it's hard to breathe sometimes. Lol.
I'm from El Cajon/Santee and Pacific Beach! :) Small world!

Or in the hill country! One thing about Houston, yes the humidity is horrible at times, but you can get a much bigger house, mucho bigger, here than you can in Austin. Austin is such a hot spot that the prices are ridiculous. Search and search!!

Austin IS expensive. ..I think the most expensive city in Texas.
i've only been a few times but I liked it :)
I like it up here though too.
Hey, 3 weeks til you get your babies!

Found a lady to take my silkie roo. I love him, he's so dopey and sweet. He STILL hasn't crowed..and I was thinking about sneaking him ;) but I know he will eventually..and I really dont need fertilized eggs.
My Silkie pullets is SO attached to him. Theyve been inseparable since I brought them home. Im sure she'll adjust..
Tonight is his last night here!
