Hey my friends, someone somewhere said something about a measurement or tape measure or something about size of eggs?
Is there a special way of measuring eggs? Is there a tape measure for this kind of thing???

Yea the dark side can get very ugly! LOL I made Paula Deans recipe and it was good an moist but I am going to make the cream cheese icing in that recipe today. It looks yummy!!! DH had NEVER had it before.... I can't believe it. I know I had make it years ago but he said he never had it so who knows but he loved it. He left this morning to go back to work and took some of it with him. LOL


I know right.... I can get that at home. It really makes it hard to explore and found out info on new to me breeds. Oh well I will just figure it all out with y'all. LOL
Well, sweetie.... you need to stay away from the pretend boards.... you need shots and special equipment for those boards and it just isn't worth it. I hear it leaves you feeling dirty and needing a shower. LOL

On a different note.... It was the breed threads for 2 of my new chicks that I was on. I never figured I would be ignored on there. But it was..... at one time I was talked at and then over. LOL There is a rooster love thread that was just started that the couple of people on it were super nice. But some people just get to serious and act like they hate newbies. I love helping others with what little I know. LOL

Yea, she will be ok. Henless posted about it being 25 hours in between lays so maybe that's has something to do with it. I know that don't lay at night either so at some point they will kind of skip a day..... did that make since? LOL

ROFLMBO I love it. I really hate we all are not closer. Y'all make me feel so normal!! I tell my kids about what my ladies and roos do and they look at me like I am crazy. LOL I have pics like that on my phone too. DH looked about my pics the other day and laughed because there are more chicken pic on there than anything else. LOL
I love the house. It is very sweet looking.

I went out this morning to check on everyone and found that my BCM had laid an egg in the temp. pen. I either have to put a nest in there or get them integrated into the general population NOW> LOL


I was so excited!! Not sure if it was laid late yesterday evening or early this morning. I didn't notice it last night when I checked on everyone but I might have just missed it. Oh well. I can't wait to see what I get today. I keep hearing them singing the egg song but that's it. LOL It should be an egg-citing week!!!

I can't wait to get some nice dark brown eggs. So pretty!

I think it is a weight thing. Let me look around and see. I know I saw an article on this somewhere.....

Kimberly, here is a good read on egg size and grading. It is a weight thing.

I was reading a recipe awhile ago and it called for a weight of eggs (it was from the UK). It made sense to me to weigh eggs since eggs of the same size can have different volumes. I really want to get a kitchen scale. I have one all picked out at Bed Bath & Beyond. I read reviews and articles to decide on this one. I want to start baking by weighing all my ingredients. I've learned this is the most accurate way to bake. Someday!

Little Hawk laid a big blue egg for me at lunch, so she must be fine! Whew..I was so worried that night. You seen me trying to carry the tote filled with Epsom salt water outside, tripping over dogs and cursing. lol

I love that dark egg! Very nice!

You'll get more soon! It's like a domino effect!

I keep a spread sheet on all my bike rides. Distance, time, speed, weather and any other things I deem notable. Why not do the same for chickens?

Silly???? Why would you think that? This just shows how serious you are about your flock. I think you will be one of those breeders that people will be 'flocking' to for help.
