Texas

now I don't feel so bad....this is me:

I was going to do that once I started up an incubator that I know will work. Right now I am using a tinfoil lined cardboard box with a piece of plastic over the top. And a lightbulb. Seems to be working though. If any hatch I figured I would start doing a count on it.

I also have my costs, eggs (with weights), and total number of hours worked with them. Lol. I love charts and graphs.

*makes jealous eyes* That is really neat. I can't wait to have mine enclosed. Finally got the stuff for the roof, now just need some material for the floors and walls. Lol They are outgrowing the converted doghouse. Plus, I may be getting 35 more birds in the next couple of weeks. Really need some materials. Thinking if I can find someone to run me to the pallet place and just build it out of those. Won't look all awesome but would be functional.

Yeah - sounds like my database. Yinepu nearly swallowed her tongue when she saw everything I had in it. It's setup to follow the life of a chicken from egg to pot - including any fertile eggs laid and with whom the egg was made. Parents, etc....should have a lineage up and going once I get fully going on my breeding program (imagine a family tree of birds). All medical issues, blah blah blah...basically, any question I've asked myself over the last while I've put into the database for tracking. I'm probably going to be one of the most anal retentive breeders in existence

But, I love data. Especially when I can look at a glance and see which breeding combination is giving me consistently great results and which ones blow monkey chunks. Keeps me from breeding the 'wrong' pairs, etc.

seriously.. I have sooo many eggs coming.. not gonna have room for all of them
Makes me think of my great uncle, Yinepu. **grins** I'd love to hear how it's done too - especially for all those that make out like you have to have X incubator with Y and Z settings or forget it!
