Thank you, man it is really hitting me hard!  I have lost a few along the way, but losing your first is much harder than I thought it would be.  The kids are pretty upset also :( they understand but this one was a blow.

My original 9 were all taken from me on the same day. Just gotta know they had the best life they could in time they had it! And everyone knows a favorite is worth atleast 4 new fuzzy butts!

For some reason all the new babies are not making me feel happier today. I am sure things will be better tomorrow, just dang upset tonight! I know it happens and I have had to put one down myself due to a hip issue, Just never thought it would be Charlie.

On a happy note, this is proof that kids will still play sticks if you kick them off the computer, he is "hammering" a nail into the ground, LOL!

I feel sorry for the dogs.. being left like that.. makes me want to take the owner and smack her a few good times (being polite here)

But yeah.. sometimes you have to shoot the dogs.. just make sure you get in a good clean kill so they don't suffer

As far as her attitude..some days I don't like people very much..
for instance.. i've recently had to deal with a liar.. this person could stand there and lie to everyone without batting an eye.. and over the dumbest stuff too.. even lied to me about their name when there was no reason to
makes ya just feel like you wish they had never entered your life..

On other news.. we had two of the dogs we have been puppy sitting go home.. four more to go which should be leaving later this week...

Then we will be left with just our dogs.. It has been fun at times looking after dogs for the soldiers (something we have done for free for deployed soldiers).. but it is also a lot of responsibility.. so I think we are done with doggy sitting once these last pups go back home. Lol.. I won't miss the extra dog hair.. or the mud they would track in from outside.. or the bigger dog food and vet bills.. but we feel good knowing that we were able to help out some of the guys who didn't want to lose their dogs.. so it was well worth it... especially when the dogs hear their owner's voice and start with the puppy happy dances
you are an awesome person, yinepu. Are you taking on apprentices anytime soon? I have to agree with you on the dogs. Surely the local law enforcement could hit the original owners with a ticket and a fine for abandoning the dogs? It's awful they attacked chickens but maybe it was out of hunger.

I would call the sheriffs dept and explain the situation they will prolly tell you to go ahead and shoot them or they will come pick them up (especially if you say you will shoot them) if they come get them they will most likely file charges on your neighbors for animal abuse.

Sad day, the first chicken I ever hatched died today.  She was acting "off" yesterday and today was dead when I got home.  She just turned 2 in March of this year.  She is the brown one in my avatar, she was the only one to hatch so I went to the feed store and bought her a Plymouth Rock friend.  They have been best buds ever since.  Her name was Charlie and one of my nicest chickens.  She will be missed. Not sure of the reason, but she was prone to heat strokes.  So I am not sure if the humid heat was the issue or what.  Just a really sad day.
