Quick question...if i put a bachelor pad right next to my layers will that serve the same purpose or will the roos still fight if they can see the girls?
Yes, they may still fight if they are within sight of the hens. They do better if they can't see the hens at all.

Have a couple that are within sight of the hens but from far away. It keeps them from fighting but they still pace the wire trying to get to the hens even with the distance.

If i can block their sight...do sounds/smells play any part? Im planning on having them in pretty close proximity but can limit sight

With ours, sound does seem to play a part but not nearly as much as seeing the hens and/or another cock. We moved one of the groups to the back pasture to be near the garden area and do some un-supervised free ranging. They can all hear each other and the groups in the front pasture can still hear the two cocks in the back pasture crowing and the hens cackling, but the cocks penned in the front don't seem to get very excited unless the group ranges up to the front of the house where they can actually see the hens and the other cocks.

that would work well! you can keep all the stags in there together and they will be fine!?
I just cought another game hen... she was settin on some old rotten eggs at my grandmas house.... now she can set on some EE eggs here!
only problem she has an issue... her poop isn't normal chicken poo... her poo&urine look totally separate... and the urine is completely clear!
anyone have a clue as to what this girl may have?

Yeah his set up would be ideal! As far as your new birdy goes, i have no idea. Never dealt with that before...all mine are healthy and leving the proof of it everywhere! Lol!

Will new layers hold off on laying if nesting boxes arent available? Surely they will just find a place to lay right? I have some that are due to start almost any time...and dont want them to hold back on my account, ya know?

Nope, mine have been known to lay in the middle of the floor or outside on the ground if a nest box wasn't available when it was needed. You can use a cardboard box or a basket for a nest box. Just put it in a corner with some hay, straw, pine shavings or something else for nest material.
