I've got a few SBEL that are pretty small. 7 weeks.
I have the one white leghorn I have in with my Lav Ameraucana roo to make a few more. I have 2 with straight combs that are close to POL. Can't wait to see what color they lay.
I still have a white SBEL roo if you want it sarge. Probably 13 weeks old or so.

I love tech speak. Thanks Sarge :) I'm out of clinics now, though after 10 years, it's very hard to not use medical terms. I'm a zookeeper now, and have the best daily notes anyones ever seen lol.

Argh! So many colored egg layers to choose from!! Although, after having to put down my favorite Amercauna, I don't know if I will ever get a pretty blue egg again :(

Good morning everyone. I've missed being on here! I tried to read the 300 posts I was behind on, but I only skimmed. Sounds like lots of stuff has been going on in the chicken world.

Just an update on my bell's palsy. It's doing much better. It's been about a month and 2 weeks or so since this started. Thank you to Taterdee and her awesome essential oils which helped speed up the nerve ending recovery process. And thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers! It's not back to "normal", but it's getting there!

On a chicken note, my daughter does not want to play with the chickens anymore because my DH brought one inside the house and said, "Hey Grace you ready for some chicken stew can you help me butcher the chicken." My 4 year old daughter looked at him like "what?" Well, then he proceeds to ask her, "Can you help me cut the head off and get her ready for the stew." Surprisingly she said, "Sure Daddy, I'll help you kill the chicken." Now, he was just joking at that point, but they will eventually become food. However, since that conversation a week or so ago...she has stopped going out to the coop except to do her chores helping me clean it and feed them.

No full time vet, yet :) lol. It's in the works. I do work with two different vets in town. For example Tuesday our wolf had a seizure. I was his ambulance to the Er Clinic. They put any medical needs on me. Which I am a-ok with. It's fun giving an ant eater subq fluids ;)

Eta : no, not my back yard. I promise :)

Went and visited my uncle yesterday and brought him his first dozen eggs from the chickens. This guy gave me a shed to use and said i could pay him in eggs...that works for me! So we were talking yesterday and he starts asking me about how many birds i have, how many i have room for and a bunch of little details. then all mysteriously ended the convo with " well you may be getting a lot more birds soon, just keep that in mind" so...........that leaves me wondering whats about to happen, and also makes me need to get all my projects completed just in case...

exciting but stressful at the same time...just gonna wait and see what happens.
