Lol I feel the exact same! I don't have chickens (yet!) but I'd rather be at home playing in the yard with the cats, rabbits and duckies than at work! :D

I think my EE'r must have something blue and red in her background.
So does mine! He's so pretty with the blue and red tones in his feathers. I call him Spiderman, hehe! (I didn't get any pictures of his backside where all the bluish tones show up more. I don't feel comfortable taking pictures of his butt, hehe!) :gig p.s. don't report me but this little guy is looking for a home. pm me for more info. ^_^
What a pretty face

Just curious in the dreadful Tx heat and cold, how are y'all keeping your chickens nice and cozy? I'm building a coop ATM for some orpingtons and I'm trying to get inspired and plan ahead so ill do it just right.

Hi everyone, we are in Garland, TX and it is a east suburb of Dallas. Our home does not have hoa and the city openly allows for up to 4 hens. YEAH! So, our source of day old chicks has been the local craiglist. We keep 4 pans of RIR in the last 4 years often from straight ran pen. 2 of them were destroyed by racoons overnight and one we sold to my friends as meat for they will not stop eating their own eggs. The current 4 are doing great and we are enjoying the eggs everyday. My boys and i are venturing into the egg hatching portion of their life cycle this month by building an igloo chest cooler incubator. So more info to follow. Stayed tuned.

I was raised in Garland-went to South Garland High :)

Wow! That's some gnarly molting! Your hens are pretty. What are they? I have four month old chickens. I ordered them from Myer hatchery and they are supposed to be Domeniques but only four of eight and two of three have rose combs. The others have single combs, two of which are considerably larger, leading me recently to believe that I have three breads. I am not sure now if I have barred rock or coco morans. There goes my breading plan. I hear Murry McMurray is a good hatchery. What do you know? We are in the gulfcoast region where it is humid and gets hot. Kat D I ended up with two roosters. One is a Domenique and the other is probably a barred rock. These girls are in the Nique's family. The one on the right is a Domenique and the other has a single comb. The ladies are helping me build the nest boxes.
Thanks 1 Black Laced Red Wyandotte, 1 Blue Laced Red W, & 1 Golden Laced Wyandotte. Looks like your coop will be very nice :)
