Had my first book "event" this afternoon, and it was fun! I gave a program on self-publishing to our UU women's group, so fortunately I was among friends. They were forgiving and encouraging.

No. I think that is the shot the vet gave him in the neck. I asked about pain med and he said that he had some paste at home that I could get for future use, but he did not recommend anything for the rest of today.
He is just standing in the shade by the water...he looks sleepy, probably exhausted. He and I did share a PBJ sandwich, so he will eat treats, but he is not grazing.
Poor baby rolled around so much during the night his temples and hip bone areas are raw.
The vet said he did look really really good for his age...did I already say that?
Edit: It's now 2:15 and he is starting to graze...still just in the area where he has been standing but the vet said that is a good sign he will be okay. I'm exhausted.
Tammy go to the store and get some Elderberry and start taking mega doses of it (double or triple the instructions) and you can nip this cold in the bud. You have to go ASAP though. GNC may carry it. I get mine at Market Street if you have one near you. A health food/vitamin shop should carry as well.Good Morning Lisa! I know you out there somewhere!!!
Last night we went to a birthday party at a restaurant in Austin and on the way I started getting that little drainage thing in the back of my throat. It looks like my annual Thanksgiving cold has made it's debut!I cannot tell you all how many times I have cooked a Thanksgiving meal and have not been able to taste one morsel of it.![]()

Melissa - I think you are correct about the aggression being passed down...I assume that is how they breed for fighting roosters. The birds were VERY quiet and on their BEST behavior for the rest of the day yesterday.
congrats on your first egg!!
