I
am hoping this link wrks for you. I just found it on line about NPIP testing. It tells you who to contact and what you need to put in the e-mail.
A friend of mine told me its free for chickens to be tested. She is here in Texas. I am thinking of doing the same thing just so i know when I start to sell mine I know they are fine.

Hope this helped if not let me know and I can find out.

Doodle_Doo,
Your contact for Texas is JC Essler. Call him Monday. He's very helpful and will explain everything you need to do. He's very easy to talk to. You will need to be NPIP, thoiugh to ship out of state. It cost me $100.00 Your flock will need to be checked before you can apply because you will need to send a copy of your current certificate with you application. Good luck! It's not hard to do, so don't worry. Just give him a call!

I just had mine renewed 2 weeks ago.
The TP test is free and if you want NPIP for flocks under 99 birds it is $25.00.
They must be egg laying to be considered adults and to counted in the 99 birds.
He checked my chickens, ducks, geese, quail, peacocks and guineas. It was all very painless.
We only have 4 testers for the entire State, but they get to you quicky.
I am in Johnson county and had Dusty Boullion and he said he was testing on average 50 flocks a week.

PS. You only need to be NPIP certified to take eggs or birds over the state line. If you are just selling in Texas all you need is the free TP test.

Dr. Baker @ 936-857-3207. He mainly services my area up in Hockley/Waller but might be somebody you can call to find out if there is one closer to cypress. Even so, he is just up the road from Cypress if you can not find anybody else.

Thanks! My dog/horse vet is 30 minutes away, so Hockley/Waller isn't that big of a deal for me.

Hi! Brand new chicken owner, and brand new to the forum. I'm in Euless, TX, found in the mid-cities between Dallas and Ft. Worth.
