Anyone in the Bryan/College Station area? The Brazos Valley Farmer's market is looking for someone in the area who has chicks to bring in for our childrens day. March 26th. Pm me for more info!

Howdy y'all!

Been lurking for a while, but still new to BYC. In Northeast Texas, near Winnsboro. We have 8 rabbits (1 Cali, 1 Netherland, 4 Netherland Dwarfs, 1 Britannia Petite, 1 Unknown), 12 chicks of various breeds, 4 unknown ducks and are waiting on our 27 NHRs, 3 Ameracuanas, and 3 Rouens to come from Ideal in May.

Hate to be the one to tell ya but Am's from Ideal are actually "easter eggers"...

ETA: See my EE in my avatar? She came from Ideal three years ago, tomorrow. Stopped laying for the most part, but her daughters lay on!

Thanks for the heads up... fortunately, the Am's or EEs, or whatever they send us are just so my daughter will be happy to have some tinted eggs!

I love my Easter Egger hens... they were some of the chickens we started with 4 or so years ago, sweet, friendly and are still laying blue / green eggs for us wonderfully! Here is a pic of my favorite Easter Egger hen, Nan... she likes to hop the fence and come visit us at the house.

Dr. Baker @ 936-857-3207. He mainly services my area up in Hockley/Waller but might be somebody you can call to find out if there is one closer to cypress. Even so, he is just up the road from Cypress if you can not find anybody else.

Howdy Miss Red,
I just picked up my chicks from Ideal yesterday, and I ordered 4 of the EE. 3 of them have the chipmunk pattern, of browns and black. The other is marked the same but you can barely make out the chipmunk pattern, and she is a lt buff and a lt creamy color... do you think she will end up looking like your avatar girl? She also doesn't have the cheeks the other 3 have. I am hoping she will just be a lighter color... and hopefully will still lay tinted eggs.....

Kacey
