In Magnolia near The Woodlands and it is so cold! But I guess I should complain in a few months it will be 100+ degrees and I will be praying for winter!

It's official : the Spring comes back on Valentines day.

I just went outside and it is raining slush! Ugh! I had to make sure all the animals had enough hay to keep warm and that all the coops were warm enough. The "nursery"brooder is in the house for the time being its too cold outside. The month old chicks in the "playpen" are all huddled together under the heat lamp. And the coop/run the hens and rooster are all huddled as close to the light as they can get.

Howdy All! I've been absent for awhile, but intend to lurk around a bit more than I have been. ; )

Got about half an inch of snow today. The Seramas and Cochins refused to even come outside today. The waterfowl don't care a hoot about the weather, although they've all requested a pair of snow boots and knitted hats. I'd better get busy!

I got my first goose egg of 2014 on Feb 4th. I've gotten 9 eggs so far, so pumped for spring so I can hatch some of these eggies! I'm already creating a "Chicken Wishlist" for this year. So far I have Blue Laced Red Wyandottes, and Black English Orpingtons on my list..oh and some LF Brahmas! *drooling* You can never have enough huge, fluffy, giant walking around your yard. Nope, never.

How's everyone else doing? What are you chicken projects for this year?

We call people like you 'enablers' and y'all are dangerous!! I've only got room for 4 chickens and so I'm full. But when you tell us what you wish for then, of course, I investigate and decide I want some too!!! Those are really pretty chickens!

I grew up a lot around there Then I move to Dallas and we get all this cold! I'm not used it it lol

This is my problem too..but to be fair, everyone tried to warn me! lol.
My: "Wish" List includes: BLRW, Chocolate Orpington, Swedish Flower Hen....I almost got impulsive..someone is selling white and buff silkie chicks about 20 minutes from me..lol But they're so hard to sex and I don't know how they'd do in the heat..
