pictures pleasechickens can take the cold very well, just need a good windbreak, its more important to have shade & ventilation in the heat we have here. These are a few of our coops that mine have done fine in for 3 years now The coop in the 1st picture gets a sheet of plywood lended against this side in the winter![]()

Here are my coops. I free range my girls from about 8:00am to dusk. Both buildings are 4 sided, but well ventilated and we leave the door on the front of the coop (not the run) open all night so if the birds want to roost out in the run, they can. Perches are in the run for this purpose. We haven't had a predator problem, the runs are very secure.
