Texas

Hello everyone,

We are new to the forum, but have been keeping chickens for about 10 years. We live in Southlake and have a new flock of 14 chickensm all bout 16 weeks old. We also have a problem - two beautiful Silverlaced Wyandotte (we think) Roosters 16 weeks old, that need a new home as we can not keep roosters in our area. We would like to trade for a couple of hens of any large variety or give away outright.

We aren't positive that they are what we think they are, since they were given to us as chicks by some other "chicken folks" we met. They were supposed to be hens! Instead they are big beautiful roosters. Can't include pics because we are too new to the forum, but we'd be happy to respond by email with pics. They have to go pretty soon, because they are getting noisy.

Thanks for introducing yourself on my newby post. I am so excited about my chickens and I'm so excited about BYC. Thanks for showing me your thread. Nice to hear about people in God's Country "TEXAS"!

I just ran into this and thought I'd read all the Texas entries, but I see there are 250 pages!!

We're in Austin and have 4 Blue Marans, 3 Barred Rocks, 3 Australian Spotted ducks, 2 Buff Orpingtons, 2 Americaunas, and 1 Cuckoo Maran. We'd love to keep up with Texas chicken/duck happenings!

Glad to find y'all!

this is just the best thread yet! I'm making a listing of the folks close to me (DFW area) so I can pay attention when they post. Welcome everybody! Part of what makes Texas so wonderful is the great people!
