Well, I have a "Mixed" flock of around 55-65 layers along with about 15 roosters. Then I have a quad of Seramas in their own little hutch. Then in the front yard I have my Coronation and Light Sussex. I've lost 7 Sussex so far to the heat so that is why they're up in the yard. They live in one side on the big hutch in the front yard and then on the other side I have 9 Black Australorp chicks, 3 Light Sussex chicks, 3 mixed chicks and 4 IB Peachicks. Then I have around 60 chicks loose in the yard, all are my future breeders. Although, I don't have too many left. After the heat and my dog gets through with them I won't have any!
I'm working on building a huge poultry "barn" for them, but until that is finished (which will be Winter, b/c it isn't started yet) they have to stay in the yard. Then lets see, I have 2 White peachicks in my "used-to-be" Quail House and that's about it.
I'm trying to hatch out some more Serama eggs and then I have some more Sussex eggs in the 'bator. I have at least two broodies all setting on eggs, as soon as they hatch I'll be selling the babies. Don't want anymore mutt chicks, I just got rid of 40.
Then this coming Friday (7/15) I'll be getting some more Sussex, and some Black and Buff Orps from Jody Hinkle lines. Anyways, just trying to keep them alive right now.
I can't believe I used to have around 12 chicks a "few" years ago and now...look at myself, a complete poultry freak!
