It was suppose to be a video. I give up.

I was writing up a huge post and I got a text in the middle of typing it out so I pulled up my messages replied. Then came back to this site and my huge post has disappeared!

Welcome from Magnolia!

Speaking of babies.....how's Mr. Charlie?
Mr. Ch is doing well. Just had his vaccine last week and he cried only 15 sec when tasted the needle, then coming home, Ch slept all day.... good boy! Next Monday will mark 1 month old and Ch will have his first b-day celebration. In Vietnam, we actually have 3 different ages. The Viet age will count the pregnancy time and at 1 month old, the baby will be 1 yr old; then after that with each Chinese New Year, we add 1 more yr to the age. With the French domination in the 19th century, we count 1 more year old with each New Year celebration. So with a person born on June 1, 2000, as of today he is 13 yrs old as counted in American age, 14 yr old as in French and 15 as in VNese. Confused? Wait till the Social Security office involves then we will have a retirement mess.

My hubby is so awesome! I've been trying to clean up around our front porch, Lots of junk finds it's way there. Tools etc. I had some packs of flowers I gotten last week and really needed to plant them. But chicken house also needed attention. While I was busy planting flowers he cleaned all the nests, the peeper coop, Belle's cage, filled all the feeders and waterers and gathered the eggs! Think I'll keep him!!!

Alas! My first batch of hatching eggs was a no go. Guess I'll perform an egg-topsy to see what happened. Hard to say. The PO scrambled and/or crushed most of them. My incubator is all digital and calibrated. Had three nights the temperature got down to 98.8. That could be it. Air circulation is plenty good with two fans. No high temperature spikes to speak of(100.3 one time). Humidity was relatively stable except for two evenings when it got a bit (5-7%) low. Oh well. We'll see what happened as best we can.
The Eggtopsy results are in. All but one were scrambled, and that little guy almost made it. At least I know it was not likely my incubator or something I could control. Onward we go with round two(Brahmas and Wheaten Ams) and a batch of quail eggs.

Thank you all for the warm welcomes. :)

Lovingmyhens- my sister lives in Katy. She loves it down there. We all have really bad allergies but down there she is allergy free.

Looks like we're getting a storm coming in...the clouds are getting dark and wind is kicking up.

Magpie- your DH is a keeper. I'm pretty sure--no, I'm positive my DH wouldn't even dream of touching the chickens.
