I'd get some electrical fencing. Premier 1 has some good stuff.

One of the other threads are talking about it too. Not sure if it was the DIY Invention thread or the Natural Keeping thread.....
I may have to check into that. We have electric fence around the dog yard...my lab is a digger. Part of my chicken yard is attached to the coop and barn. Would you run the fence around the outside of the whole thing or just the coop where the wire is vulnerable?

I would just do the wire part, unless something can get through the wood. Or under it. hard to say without actually seeing it.

I think digging is a Lab breed trait. The one I had was horrible at digging. She especially loved to dig up anything I planted.
I guess the chickens would only touch the wire once. It's not powerful enough to hurt them is it?

My main concern is the raccoons..The one DH shot was really big and would have had no problem getting in if it had wanted to. Haven't seen any skunk except squished on the highway. 'possums won't get in once the pickets are up but a raccoon might try to climb and then get thru the wire higher up. Armadillos any problem...we got them too.

I'm totally sorry about the loss of your dr. It is so hard to find a good dr.

Thanks. I've got 2 months to find a new one. That is when my script runs out.

The bad news I guess it's bad is they are building another TSC just 8 miles away here in Tyler. Right on her way home from work. Did not know Tyler was big enough for 2 TSC.
I know Tyler is big, but didn't realize it was big enough for 2 TSC! Good thing is chick day does not last forever! Horaney's in Longview has chicks about 10 months out of the year. :)

What a bummer about finding a new doctor. My doctor retired at the beginning of last year due to you-know-who-in-the-WH.

I DON'T like cliffhangers, but I bought the movie today.

Lisa :)
I don't like cliffhangers either, but it was a good movie. In fact, I have it on now, LOL

I was already "out of network" due to the health care changes. I've lost 2 docs this year. my Gyn and my Primary Care. If my Rheumatologist quits, I'll be up a creek.

I would just do the wire part, unless something can get through the wood. Or under it. hard to say without actually seeing it.

Our lab we had wasn't a "digger" so to speak, but he would dig up anything I planted. I planted azaleas around our pine trees, and in less than a week he had dug them all back up. Now my Jack Rat is a digger extraordinaire. He will dig to China when he's after a varmint. He usually gets it too. So far he's left my chicks alone. He'll watch them, but hasn't tried digging yet. Still thinking about putting up an electric wire.

Looks like we're going to have a nice day today. I moved my house plants outside yesterday and repotted my hens & chicks. Hoping to start some new ones.

They do seem to like it warm which is hard to adjust to because my chicks always seem to like things cooler than normal.  I tried TSC but they were out of chicks already.  They always sell out so fast, I can't believe so many people around here have chickens!

I don't know what in the world I'm going to do with them if they have to stay inside for 6 weeks...I've also noticed they still aren't eating.  I've ready they will starve themselves.  I'm pretty sure they were hatched yesterday since they are from Privett and it only takes a day for their orders to get here.  Hopefully tomorrow they will get their appetites.

They are also evil...they keep pecking at each other...

What kind of turkeys are they? My 2 are white broad breasted they grow so fast.

Broody hatched 9 of 12 babies so far

I'm sorry :(

Well, ordered some bird from a breeder yesterday!
I'm going to have 10 little fluff butts for awhile!

2 Cream Legbars!

My first breeder birds! I'll only be keeping 2 of the GCMs and 1 CL, because they're for sure pullets.
