Why does this not surprise me. LOL
I'm encouraged that you were able to move her. I'm going to have to move Becka to a broody cage so the other hens don't give her anymore eggs. I was worried about moving her from her nest to a closed cage.
In my situation, I was not allowing her to sit on eggs when she was on the hay bales. After I moved her to the hoop-coop I didn't put in any eggs for the first few hours because she was soooo determined to break out and go to back to her hay. That night I put some eggs in which she still ignored (for the most part) most of the second day. Then I noticed she had moved a few into a new nest, then a few more then finally I put the last (9th) egg in her nest when she got up to eat. I just checked and Speedi is happily sitting on all 9 eggs in the hoop-coop. This will also be my first hoop coop hatch from start to finish.
This year has been my first year ever of doing "on purpose" hatches, (I've had a couple that resulted in sneaky broodies), so I'm still a newbie on this subject.
