He got a $500 fine and his License suspended for 6 months. That all he got for driving dunk and on the wrong side of highway 69 which is a divide highway.

My husband was hit on his way to work, at 4:00 on a Saturday morning, by a drunk driver. The driver and 3 passengers bailed, my husband was in his truck on its side in a ditch. It was amazing he wasn't injured worse than what he was. The driver then got into a truck with someone else, we still aren't sure if it was a friend that was following them or if he actually hijacked the truck. The drunk driver got into an altercation with the truck driver a couple of blocks up from the accident, the officer that left the scene to assist with the other call of the drunk driver now assaulting a police officer brought the drunk driver back to the scene. They caught one of the passengers in a hotel lobby bathroom. The only charges we were ever able to find that were charged against the drunk driver were assault on an officer and he was arrested for outstanding warrants. They had witnesses that put him at the scene, the passenger told police he was the one driving, insurance has him documented as the driver but yet no drunk driving charges...so frustrating...

I'm sorry that you've had to go through that! It never seems like the punishment fits the crime...

The only question I have for you is, why are you still reading this and not out buying more chickens?!

True...so true. I've only had chickens since November but they are totally awesome. People think chickens are dumb...they never knew a chicken!!!
They are like dogs and cats in that they each have a personality. They have a social order. Communicate in chicken talk. Ane they are SMART! They learn things fast.
I'm so glad I have chickens...but I just realized something...the 20 free chickens I got cost us about $700. But they have been worth every penny. If for nothing else their fresh eggs are the best. I will never eat another store bought egg as long as I have chickens.

The cheapest part of chicken keeping seems to be the chicks!

The reason is I am running out of places in the house to put them. With this weather I can not build any more coops I have one for the 6 EE I was given in my shop almost done. Then I have to build their run. I have 36 coming the end of this month that I have to leave room for in the house to brood. I have 2 brooder boxes in the front room 1 has the 6 EE and the other has 6 one week old bantams my wife got from Atwoods. I am sure she will want to go back to Atwoods tomorrow cause they get a shipment in tomorrow morning. I think she wants to see if they have any silkies. I hope if she does I can put them with the week old bantams. My brood boxes are 3ft by 4ft by 2ft tall.

They had a tornado touch down about 25 miles from me in Lovelady yesterday afternoon. One woman had a deep cut to her leg when the tree fell on her mobile home.

Temp has dropped 30* since I got up this morning.

Howdy neighbor!! There was also tornado strength winds here this morning. My uncle lives down the highway from that lady and he didn't get touched. Good thing, he's got five new calves on the ground. This rain is killer on the babies!

If I had not gotten sick I would still have it. I had a job that payed very well before I got sick. Now I can not work a full time job and I am on disability which is less the. Half of what I made on my job. I would love to go back to work it's hard to go from being the guy that run everything to sitting on your but watching the tv. What happen to me is I had a drunk man hit me head on at 70 mph 11 years ago. I spent a year in a wheel chair but went back to work 2 months after the wreck. In the wreck it broke both legs to the point they wanted to cut the them off. Bike my back , face and damaged my Pancreas. I worked until my pancreas gotten worst and put me in the hospital for 9 months. That is when I almost lost everything I had. The bike was the 1st to go but I guess being alive is better then not!! It was 3 years ago that I went into the hospital and have not been able to work after that.

I thought about y'all when I passed through Trinity the other day. Winds were nasty here also. Had a storm blow through Friday before last in the afternoon. Sure thought we would have a tornado in that one. Green sky, plumb ugly. After it passed the sun came out and blessed us with twin rainbows!! Sure was pretty!

That storm that hit last week took power out from us to Groveton. Caused all sorts of electrical problems to rear at the house. We didn't get the rainbows though we did lose ten trees!!

Yeah we were without power for 17 hours. Just like camping though. Kinda reminded us of Hurricane Ike when we were without power for nine days.
