Have you got your birds out of the pet carrier yet?? Or did they get stuck!!:lau

They got out on their own, all 8 and a half of them that had somehow managed to squeeze in there! :idunno. It was numerous watching them, I got a good laugh out of them. I think I'll leave the dog crate their just so they can play with it, after the ducks lay of coarse.

Here's a few pics of the chicken tractor I'm working on. It has a 4'x8' run beneath and a 2'x8' coop on top with 1'x2'nesting boxes on the end.

Just not feeling it today. I have so much to do and just don't feel like doing anything. I am building a pen for the EE. Still need to build list is 3 small coops, 1 pen for the small coops ( not the one I am working on ) and 1 larger pen for the big coop. That is just to get up to take care of the birds I already have.

this is the pen I am working on. The pen is really 2 pens. It will be invited where the 2x6 is running in the middle. The small coop will have one more on the left side to go with the pen.

Wow, that is a lot of coops to build. I think chicken math wins at your place. Don't feel bad, I am scrambling to get my 2nd coop up and running. I really really need to separate the chickens from the geese and ducks, lol. Guess at my house chicken math became poultry math cause I keep getting more and more. :p

The chickens aren't going to notice if you take a day or two off!

I've found it helps when I have days like that to 'weed out the herd' a little. Even if it goes no further than making a list, I pick out the ones I'm not extremely attached to, any that aren't looking the way I was hoping, a few that I remind myself we are holding onto until they are big enough to go to freezer camp. We've decided we aren't keeping any of our ducks. I'm a little disappointed but they are a lot of work to keep their area clean and I've decided I want to concentrate on chickens. I have one girl who has horrible manners and jumps on us when we go into the coop with food, she's on 'the list'. I'm not a huge fan of black bibbed turken, but she's a really good layer, so I've added her to 'the list' too. We have a bantam red frazzled cochin that is so ugly she's just ugly, she's not even so ugly she's cute, she's on some sort of list but its more of a 'What in the world are we going to do with her, who would buy her' list.
