Texas

How's everything going on the Texas thread? Is anyone getting their gardens going? I put it off and now I'm regretting it. There are so many Texas-sized weeds and now I have to pull them out and burn the seeds so there is no chance of them growing again. It's the only natural way of preventing an influx of weeds once I get to work in the garden.

Anyone else starting late on their garden?
All I got going is a decent tomato plant (literally one plant lol) and some strawberries that never flowered. :( I had planned on building some raised beds but life has gotten in the way lately so things haven't happened as I'd like. I'm wondering if it's too late. I asked on a Texas gardening thread but never got a response. Shrug

Please let me know more details on the Razr thing. I'd like to help but I don't have any clothes that size. I'm sure he wouldn't be interested in my whipper snapper attire anyways! lol Anyhting I can do to help though, let me know

My husband set up the donations account through Razr on Facebook. My husband titled it the Henry Niño Benefit Fund. So if you have Facebook you should be able to search for it and find it that way. The other donations account, also titled Henry Niño Benefit is through any Frost bank.

You can still plant. It will be rough, but can be done.

Hello and Welcome from Waco!

We have an area that we use to burn brush and wood scraps from my shop. Haven't used it in a while, so all my birds go over to it to do the dustbath thing. I will let them do their thing for a while, then call them. They come a runnin, and the dust trails that they have coming off of them are amazing. It is a site to see!!

What the dust bath does is tis, smothers parasites, plain and simple. Woodash, a slong as it is not cedar, is best for this.
Why not cedar? (EDIT: Nevermind! Read further down the thread and got the answer. I'm still catching up! lol I don't personally have any cedar, I was just curious)

Thank you! I'll go take a look when I catch a break later on today!

I may give it a shot just for s#!+s and giggles! Worse case, I can get in a fall planting if the beds are alrerady there!
You aren't too late for okra and even some beans. My okra has barely started doing anything. The squash and tomato are just now flowering and the only thing I've harvested is a few strawberries and beets.
