Starfire, wow yall really took a tole!

Wind gusts of up to 50 mph according to my mom. There are downed trees all over the neighborhood. My gardens took a beating. So far I haven't seen hail damage, though a warning was issued for nickle sized hail. I am just grateful I took the precautions I did and put the ducks and geese in the chicken coop or I would have lost all of them. I am also grateful that a tree didn't smash,y chicken coop. The tree that snapped was 7 feet away from the coop and came down on the garden, not the coop. I think I am going to get really aggressive trimming all my neighbors trees that hang over the property line. We have 60% chance of rain tonight as well, so all my babies are going back into the unfinished chicken coop for protection.

Tomorrow will be busy cleaning up some more. I wanted rain but not for the storm to be right over my house or for lightning to strick my house either. Luckily we got everything back up and running. But I think I am going to bed early tonight after dinner. I'm soooo tired.

Starfire, wow poor you, I'm glad everyone was om though. We just have some flooding nearby and our backyard is a pond :/.

As you said, no one was injured. And the good Lord waited until the coop I was working on was at a place were we could use it. That made a huge difference and we are thankful things weren't worse. And even though we got more than we bargained for, we needed the rain. Maybe the plants that survived will do better for this. :fl

Thank God everyone is all right. Sorry for the rough night. We got about 4 inches of rain, a little wind, and some lightning. Nothing like what you got. I think your remaining plants will do great. If they survived that, they can survive anything. How is everything going??

I got a question. Is there such a thing as an optometrist for chickens ?? I believe my Buff Orpington is far-sighted. I have watched her in the yard, and she puts one of her eyes about a half inch off the ground and then pecks, I guess when she sees what she is going after. Also when I am giving treats, holding between thumb and forefinger, she pecks at my middle finger, before she figures it out. Have to be there. Funny to watch. Will get video asap.
