Is anyone going to the South Plains (Lubbock) Fair/Show? I will be going to it on Sunday, September, 25th. If anyone else is going please PM me..or post here to let me know. I would love to meet other BYC'ers in the "area".

Also, does anyone know who will be the poultry judge? If anyone is going to be selling poultry at the fair please let me know what you have for sell, and I will tell you what I'm looking for.

I will be starting a thread for anyone that is going, so we can swap eggs etc in the parking lots or something.

I will post a link here when I start the thread...

hi all,
i was sooooo excited with the rain this morning! its muggy as all get out now but will take it with the rain

i have an 19 week old splash jersey giant roo i need to rehome, i hatched him from eggs i got from Wynette. he hasn't started to crow yet and i kept hoping i was wrong and he was a she but i just cant deny it anymore and would like him to go to a good home. i cant keep roos in town (don't want to upset the neighbors) his tail feathers are a mess because he is low chicken on the totem pole and the duck keeps trying to groom him. he is huge! here is a pic of him from today, after the rain!

I have similar worries, to be honest. You rarely see a drought that only lasts one year. More likely to have reduced rain for a number of years, and this drought is a real doozy.

If any of y'all are in the DFW area, you should definitely check out Grapefest in Grapevine. I went last night and it was really fun! Lots of beautiful art, a lot ranch themed. Pictures, paintings, and sculptures of cows, horses, and chickens everywhere! There were several new metal artists there, and that was really neat.
Has anyone else gone?

Good Morning Tejas!! You noticed Good right!! Well, it should be I read 50% chance of rain after 7 AM. I have just finished planting my fall gardens & would love to have it watered from above instead of below. People buy Miracle Grow for their gardens the only real Miracle Grow comes from the sky. Pray for rain all!!!
