Hi, I'm in Euless, TX, new to chicken keeping and have the desire to do some micro farming with a couple of hens to have fresh organic eggs. My neighbor kept hens for eggs for several years and finally ate them. I'll be reading through the forums to learn what I can.

My goals are to one day have a diverse and sustainable low impact micro farm within city limits that includes Aquaponics, Chicken Keeping, Vermicomposting and Fish Keeping.

I've dabbled in organic gardening, hydroponics fish keeping and rabbit keeping with some success and am adding skills to my ability to one day have them all working to help each other. I used the organic fed rabbit poo for fertilizer and grew a decent garden, but still had challenges with making good soil. Chicken poo may be the answer to assist. Rabbits were expensive to keep fed and I did not find an easy solution to that.
