I went outside to check on my handy husband & saw the awesome drawbridge door he made for the doghouse coop. :D

oh how cool!!

I can't figure out how to post in classifieds. Maybe because I'm on the app and I never get on the computer. Wanted to sell some cockerels but I would gladly give to one of my fellow texans on here. Neither my husband or I has brought ourselves to process a chicken yet, so the likely option would be the shotgun. :) and they are some beautiful birds! They are a variety of mixed or pure maran, legbar or Ameraucana. So if you are in the dfw area and in need of a rooster, message me. :) hope it's ok to post on here, I figured it would be ok since I'm not selling.

oh how cool!!

This week is crazy busy for us, but I will try to keep my husband motivated to finish the run by this weekend. I think that's when we'll be able to coordinate with ya'll on meeting or picking-up the pullets. My husband is enjoying the creative construction, and I am enjoying his assistance with expanding our flock.

Good luck and have fun!

Well...found the answer to my own question. Sweet feed can be fed to chickens like a treat in limited amounts but should be fed little or none in the summer because of high protein and carbs in it. This also applies to scratch grains...both can also make chickens get fat and not lay like they should. Found this on BYC thread.

Good to know. Thanks!
