Lost my scissorbeak Salmon Faverolle last night

She just couldn't keep up I guess...

As of today, I've decided that moving my bullied EE's from the hoop coop to the tractor was a good one. My bullied baby showed her appreciation for removing her to safety with this little gem. She's the one who is missing all her saddle feathers from being picked on. I was genuinely surprised and thrilled since we haven't gotten a single egg since integrating our flock about three weeks ago. I've decided to leave the 2 EEs in the tractor and move them daily for fresh forage. They seem so much happier and at ease.

So sorry! It's never easy when something happens to one of our animals.

Nice size egg! She must be a lot happier and is just showing you how much. :)

Thank you!
We went ahead and buried her last night. My Buff Orp even helped dig (though she may have been looking for bugs). I know it's part of having them :/
We knew it might be a possibility, it was just more sudden than I expected.

I'm very sorry.

On another note people blow my mind. Someone on Craigslist is giving away a 3 month old pullet because they can no longer keep it in an apartment! Wait... What?!? I swear... I want to get it but we aren't set up for chickens at all yet. Do people think that a chicken is just a cute little bird? Wow... Not the first time I have seen this either.
