Texas

I kill all snakes.  I am not going to guess when it comes to taking care of the family or livestock.

GUESS????? Educate yourself man!!!! There are only 6 or 7 venomous snakes in Texas....(less in your area).... and once you can identify them....everything else is safe....and if you are unable to do that....then you can't tell the difference between an apple and an orange! !!!

Night and day....the only snakes that can be slightly confusing are coral snakes and king snakes and they are distinguishable by a simple nursery school saying....you know: red and yellow......

Are you really going to claim ignorance as an excuse?

Ummmmmmm......I got nothin!!!!

Seriously, I usually have some kind of story to relate that hinges on the unbelievable....but is true....all I can say is....I believe you...(had some semi-similar experiences that tell me snakes have reflex responses long after they are dead)....all I can say is...wish I was there....cool story...did you kill all the babies? ....Or stick a couple in your pocket to tease the little woman with when ya got home?,....JK...

She is "The little Woman".

There are more snakes in this world than there are people. I don't think you have anything to worry about. You are welcome to come to my place and catch as many as you can. I live on 26 acres.

You need to check out some medical billing sites. This will bring to you to reality. Snakebite treatment is big bucks. I know of a few victims that have paid this much , and more to get treated right here in Texas>.

OK....So the suspense is killing me........I want the WHOLE story....(in detail)....just exactly HOW does one manage to get bit by a copperhead AND a cottonmouth?

And there are WAY more poor people than rich people....you are welcome to come here and take all the poor people out of my city and take them to yours....you're missing the point....

Well, when I was 15, this was some years ago, I was walking to my home from my car, and stepped on the copperhead. Bit. The only thing that we could figure, he/she did not inject too much venom. Just enough to make me sick for a couple days. Now, the moccasin is a different story. We have a small pond on the place, I was 17, and fishing. I spotted the snake on the bank, big snake. Long as I am tall, and about a 3 inch girth. "My adolecent stupidity" told me to try to catch the snake, and I did. Grabbed him too far behind his head, and got bit. At this point I was ****** and ripped his head off. Right after that, I started feeling funny, and made my way back to the house, and Dad took me to the hospital, really fast. By the time we got to the hospital, I was in anaphylactic shock. We found out I am allergic to the venom of Water Moccasins, and maybe other snakes. I spent 3 days in intensive care and 2 days thereafter. I still have the skin from the snake.

There you have it. I was a stupid kid, but I learned from it.

And I think you are missing the point!! A newbie coming on here and trying to push your thoughts and beliefs and belittle others who do not believe exactly as you do!!!
If you are trying to make friends on here you are going about it the wrong way.
Personally I feel the same way about snakes as you do but you have to realize that not every body feels the same. Your condescending remarks are offensive even to me as those you are responding to are my friends. For now!!!

Thank you David, and God Bless!!!

I am not missing the point. People are more important than animals, especially snakes. That is the point.

No....you are...it's not an "either or" thing....and you could very well be compromising your familys health by destroying beneficial snakes....

More people by far die from diseases spread by rats than even get bit by snakes....I'm only trying to point out your thinking is illogical and based on fear and misconception....and....BTW: The best way to get bit by a snake is to try to kill it....
