Texas

Someone was getting rid of two Welsummer's roosters. We took them in. Those two would attack me as soon as I entered the pen. They didn't last 3 days with us. We called the owner to come get them or else. He came and got them. That was when he told us that his wife was scared of them. grrrrrrrrr

I would have processed those mean boys as food.

Are backyard chickens allowed in Fisco or Little Elm Texas? How about HOAS in those areas? We are relocating from California and I dont know if my girls can come with us.

I believe both cities allow backyard hens, no roo's, but it will depend on the specific HOA. If you are looking in the more rural parts of town it would likely be ok but if it is a community with an HOA I would definitely verify.

Hello all! We are new to chicken raising as well as this site. This site has been very helpful in our adventure so far! We are located just outside of Kerrville, Texas.

Hello! I love your member name. Wish I had been as clever. My last name is Ham. I'm new to the forum but not to raising chickens. I've had chickens off & on all my life. However, after finding this site, meeting some of the members & seeing their set ups, I'm thinking I need more chickens! I've always wanted to try hatching eggs & there's so much information & help here. We'll see...
Make sure to share pics of your flock & coop.

HOA's always trump what someone can do. However, Texas was working on legislation to allow 6 hens per home. I don't like HOA's because more often than not, they become cliqueish and their buddies can do this, but not you. That leads to frictions and law suits.
