Texas

We won't get a direct hit in Ledbetter, but are scheduled for 25" of rain!!! We WILL flood, but being retired....we'll just stay at home.
I have moved my ducks into our shop in a temporary pen, they are NOT happy, but they ARE safe.
Everyone stay safe!
Please check out advice on Hurricane advice thread if you plan to stay home. Good luck, everything I have posted on Hurricane advice thread is ment for all Texans. Especially prayers.

Have several oak trees down, have lost several birds. Saved 1 Yellow golden male, guess you can figure what his name will be now. Stupid pheasants just stand out in the storm, instead of getting in the shealtered part of their enclosure.
The eye of Harvey is about 10 miles away, right now, have sustained winds near 60mph, gusts around 70mph. Rain coming down horizontal. Have already got 10 inches.

Hope it doesn't get any worse. So glad Harvey has dropped to a cat 1, Our Lady of Prompt Succor, continue to hasten to help us. KikisGirls, so sorry about your floors, know from personal expirence, this is going to be a royal pain in your a**. Still praying for the best. To all , if you have suffered major damage like wet floors, etc, contact your insurance to start the process of filing a claim now, it will speed up your ability to recover after everything is over, doesn't matter whether you know the full extent of the damage yet or not. You can still begin the process, so you are not the last claiment they get to. Holds true for those in Louisiana who are begining to feel the effects of Harvey as well

Yep, the wind is driving the rain in through my windows. Got towels, pans, pots everywhere.

Sean, you will have a very short window of opportunity to get your birds inside while the eye is passing. I don't recomend going out in the eye, as you do NOT want to get caught after it has passed and you will not get any advanced notice that the eye has passed. But if you feel the necessity to get your birds in, run like a crazy person as soon as the winds die down and get back inside as soon as you possible can. Good luck

So sorry you have to go through this, still praying. Also would contact insurance to begin claim process if you can. This will not effect any future damage you may suffer from this event, Just getting in the insurance line ahead of others.
