Texas

Also, anyone in the East Texas area have some turkey hatching eggs I can come by and get? My poor BS hen has been on a bad clutch for weeks, and the hen my tom is mating with hasn't started laying yet.

If you were closer I would have some for you.. as it is we are feeding them to the critters and planning to finish off the toms this weekend.. IF the darn weather cooperates!

orumpoultry, LOL! Thuderstorms can make the perfect dog, so it's weakness. My boss had one that she would have to rush home if it was out and a storm hit, the dog shreaded the wood around all of her windows.

I really want to go to the 2012 Texas Chickenstock but it is the same day as UT Graduation and my SIL is graduating at 8:00 AM (YEP 8:00 AM) then we have a party at 4:00 PM for her. We are so proud, she did Pre-Med.

....big. Hah, I triple my turkey pens when in comparison for chicken pens. a 30x30 barely holds three happily full time. I don't let them range, as I don't feel comfortable doing so just yet. Too many places to fly off to.
How big of a pen do you need for turkeys?

I just realized I'm less than a week out for my Royal Palm eggs coming in from GA... I'm sure she won't be broken before those come in. One less time to crank the incubator, too!

Too bad about the weather, but I'd rather the rain!!

I have 18 poults here which are waiting to take their place (still in the brooder) plus have an order from Porters coming next week.. lol.. gonna have turkeys as far as the eye can see..................

Hi ... living near the Gulf Coast in Dickinson. New to BYC and raising chickens. I live in a subdivision and have only three 9 week old Buff Orpingtons. I want to thank all you chicken experts. Being a city girl, I have learned so much from this site. I've wanted chickens for at least 2 years and kept talking myself out of it, well this spring I did it and really happy I did. My girls are the sweetest things, very entertaining and I can't wait to get eggs. They have also brought me more company.... family and friends come to see my chickens.
