Texas

I also posted this under the 2012 Texas Chickenstock thread, but here goes again:

2012 Texas Chickenstock is only 9 days away ! Rain or shine...

We are again combining Chickenstock with the May meeting of the Austin Backyard Poultry Meetup group, so you should see lots of people you know if you live in central Texas.

This is a family and friends affair. Show up around 11:00 am with a side dish or dessert that will feed your family + 4 adults. I will have plates, utensils, napkins, ice, coffee, tea, and water. If you prefer a different beverage, bring it with you.

Please do not bring any dogs or other animals.

This Chickenstock is not a swap meet, but if you make arrangements in advance to exchange birds at Chickenstock, that is OK. Just don't bring any birds to sell on speculation.

Looking forward to seeing everyone at:

Forgot the quote.. lol

What kinda breeds do you have?

Barred Rock and EE's in the layer pen. On the more serious side I'm doing Black and Blue Copper Marans, Ameraucanas and should be getting Silver Laced Wyandotte chicks next week. If my hatch turns out there should be some Olive Eggers in the group.

Rachael, meet Chance. In this picture he was roughly 14. My cousin, McCade, was 4 in this picture. Chance, on all fours, was taller than Cade when he picked up his ears. We had to teach him to crouch and be gentle, as you can see Cade has a BAD fear of dogs. Still to this day. We all miss Chance very much. I believe he lived less than a month after this photo was taken.

I told you he was a BIG dog! Cade's arm was as long as Chance's head. Somewhere, I have a whole bunch of pictures ( including one really beautiful one of him in some fall leaves with his ears up almost in a point ) - As far as what my aunt breeds? I have no idea. She breeds mainly Czech line.

Also, anyone in the East Texas area have some turkey hatching eggs I can come by and get? My poor BS hen has been on a bad clutch for weeks, and the hen my tom is mating with hasn't started laying yet.

Czech are really good lines also. I love the look on Chance's face, I bet he was one of those once in a lifetime dog.

How big of a pen do you need for turkeys?

I'm in CenTex.. but I won't be there.. have other plans for that day
So have fun guys!

Chance was the most understanding dog. He was a Nanny. Took great care of us as we were growing up, but in the end he was always mine. My great protector who protected me from intruders...

-sigh- His fear of thunderstorms, though, cost us QUITE a few chewed through windows and doors and one dryer.
