Texas

Jalapeños are not even spicy.
Serranos...might be a little.
Jalapinos are awesome as appetizers when stuffed with cream cheese and breaded(and fried), but yeah I give em a heat value of zero. I can't even imagine the pariah I would be down here with a capsasin allergy. I mean I guess I could phone in orders to my local taco shop for pickup as that does work. I just wouldn't to talk to them face to face and ask them to turn the heat down.

You know how normal pepper keep a salt and pepper shaker on their table?
(or near it or where ever)
I keep one with cayenne pepper too.

Growing up my friends would come over for dinner and ask, "How in the world does your mom manage to make spaghetti so spicy?"
It wasn't spicy to us and it was just garlic and maybe a little tiny bit of cayenne.
Oh @KikisGirls have you tried the HEB branded black pepper? I am so in love with their pepper.

It would be worse if I actually liked spicy food. I'm just glad I'm not allergic to tomatoes!
Living down here you don't have much of a choice about liking spicy food unless you want to drive 15 miles to a McDonalds which my stomach doesn't tolerate well any longer. I seriously hurled up the last quarter pounder I ate. I am not trying to be gross but my stomach was cramped up for a full 3 hours after eating that stale burger.

And yes nobody is holding a gun to my head and forcing me to pour on the one ounce of green sauce that comes with my breakfast tacos....but I still do it every time.

I know what you mean. I don't know if something's changed or I'm getting older, but I don't tolerate fast food like I used to.

If you do BTW ever head down here to go to SPI, yes I know it is a 9-10 hour drive from Arlington, you can order up their Brisquit sandwich. They have beyond awesome fries(they put on curly fry dust that adds color but not real taste anymore) and you can eat the mesquite grilled brisquit smoke right out of the sandwich. https://www.google.com/maps/@26.1349655,-97.5731952,15z
The place is called Moe's Drive Thru, totally capsasin free. All I can really say is "Dang! they make a briscuit I would be proud of" were I capable. I know it sounds like a Simpsons reference but this Moe's is for real.

Also it isn't far from the Hiway. After burning my tastebuds on the local heat I can still taste quality mesquite smoked meat.
