Thanks. She didn’t use the nest box. She made a nest in the shavings under the roost and poop box. When wife went in to get it one went up to it and started pecking it. Pulled the shavings out and opened up the curtain in the nest box. When checked back later one had made a spot in shavings in front of roost. No egg though.

Have you tried putting a fake egg or a golf ball in the nest?
Sometimes leaving one in the nest boxes will help.

Yes. Have 2 of the fakes in the box. I have seen them look in but not go in. Knew I should have painted it pink instead of gray!

Great news to my ears.
I really wish everyone would investigate better/more.
I have only browsed my local CL a few times, just for kicks.
I find the people who posted when i browser to be a joke for more reasons then just claiming it was a certain breed when it clearly wasn't.
These type of people... are probably the ones who sell sick birds.

There are a ton of bad resources for chickens on CL but there are honest people trying to sell a few extras every now and again. I don’t even know where else would i buy a hen if i don’t want to do a mail order. Any suggestions?
