Texas

I got mine from Chickenville in Terrell.
Mayab, it is about an hour and 45 minutes from you. Worth the trip if you don’t want some shipped. I think the price goes up $5 a week until a certain age. Grandkids enjoyed seeing all the chickens and goats. This is how an old codger like me would make the trip. I would pick a slower route and go through a lot of smaller towns. Find a quaint barbecue place on the way. Stop and look at junk and flea markets. Enjoy looking at the old buildings. Find me some cast iron to restore. Get my chickens and go home faster down 20 and 377. Life is shorter than you think. Might as well enjoy the scenery along the way.

Sounds perfect to me! I think I’ll do that, as soon as the sun finds its way back to Texas.

Your opinions. My runs are welded wire dog kennels. I was going to put 2 feet of hardware cloth around the bottom and on indie and 4 feet of poultry wire above it to the top. I wanted to keep the hens from poking their heads out and birds from flying in. Haven’t seen any birds in yet. Top is covered in R panel and secured to top of run. 2 ft of chain link on ground around run. Do you think something like Birdblock would work as well to keep heads in and birds out. Not too worried about coons teaching in or tearing wire. I want to keep heads in as my Australian Shepherd might grab one if it were to poke out.

I would say reasons.
