First question, how strong is your flashlight? 600 lumen minimum. More for dark brown eggs. 1000 lumen is working well for me. Quail and brown eggs.Hello Texas folks. I live outside the bustling metropolis of Smithville, between Bastrop and La Grange. I'm new to the forums and raising chickens, but excited about the prospect.
I'm currently trying to incubate Americaunas, Marans, Olive Eggers, Wyandottes and Cream Legbars along with a few random breeds.
I'm pretty nervous about the batches, I've had one rotten egg, and several that don't appear to be fertilized or developed. Right about now, I'm wishing I had a seasoned Hatcher who could help candle this batch and tell me what I'm looking at.
