To my wife and I these are wildlife and they fly in every winter and leave around early summer. Frequent scratch nabbing things but they are cool in the fact they form monogamous pairs. Being native wildlife to Texas I have questions if they would be legal to own in this state.View attachment 1947196

Sweet! Welcome to BYC and what do you plan on raising?Hey everyone! I'm back at it with the chickens! It's been a long while but now I'm on a large property and can once again raise my birds!
We have wild ones that fly in every year and pose for photos. They are so comically beautiful. To my wife and I these are wildlife and they fly in every winter and leave around early summer. Whistling "tree" duck is kind of funny, I usually only see them in puddles of water or on roof lines and naturally grazing the grains we throw as scratch, but never in trees. Additionally, it isn't part of their name, Mexican whistling Duck is one name as well. Regardless, with the genus and species id below you can read more.
They are incredibly flighted so you would have to take care of that aspect. I have no clue where they want to go during our summers and autumns, but without clipping those flight feathers I suspect any recently tamed whistling ducks might have the urge to go there. Copy and paste is from our World Birding Center in the RGV.

Haven't used that in years...I grind mine fresh nowadays!Just a Texan note, even if you do not live in HEB land, this pepper is the bomb and I am sure it can be mail ordered these days. No freshly milled mix seems to compare. I suspect @Texas Kiki @007Sean and @RUNuts can vouch for me on this. Sorry for the low quality image.

I agree. However, were is the best place to order peppercorns? I bought a bunch at the grocery store and while zippier, is there more? After I deplete the current stash, I'll be seeking.Haven't used that in years...I grind mine fresh nowadays!
I have some but I prefer the Fiesta Brand coarse pepper which I just ran out of yesterday.Just a Texan note, even if you do not live in HEB land, this pepper is the bomb and I am sure it can be mail ordered these days.
