I ordered these "Florist Pro" gloves from Home Depot. They suck for prickly pear, but are great fView attachment 2396228for hackberry, mesquite and citrus. they were about 20 bucks for leather and whatever that bulletproof material is called.

I just know we like ours they have a role here on our acre and change. I seriously doubt you will regret buying them. The prickly pear gloves ran me 80 dollars though, but after living 4 months with thorns in your finger tips you tend to re-evaluate things.

No prickly pear here thank heavens.... but lots & lots of old mesquites and about 2 dozen hackberries. Oh... the gloves can be here Friday free shipping. #winning #awesomegloves LOL

Yeah it is sad how badly the 3 pair for 5 dollars leather gloves from HD/Lowes perform in Texas. They are really in the category of I just don't want to get a blister.

Do NOT get me riled on chicken killing dogs.
I posted a while back on the neighbors dog that killed/destroyed my flock and coop.
I have my plan in place there will NOT be repeat.
I am still not confident on strength/security of coop, but I feel better.

I would suggest you download and read "Vernon's Texas Health and Safety Code" you can get really creative once you know the law. Chapter 822 and 823 pertain to you. Ok all the way to 828 as well. It is why I have no problem using coyote snares on my neighbor dog. Legally I am in the right the dog is a coyote. My wife hates the idea as the animal will suffer but I do not want unvetted paracite laden animals on my property. My neighbors just don't give a flip about it or the fact that it takes my hens.

I don't know why the media are pretending that this thing dies in Nicaragua(sandanistalandia sorry I have to look at my map again to figure out the countries) the modeling shows it going to FL in my opinion.

I'll "buy that for a dollar"; with that upper level stuff laying across the middle of Florida.... I can see it regain strength, bump across the west coast of Cuba and that mop across the southern 1/3 of Florida. Easy peasy.

Wind velocity in WX maps has always held fascination and wonder in my eyes.
Case in point the massive North Arctic vortex slamming the Russian coastline at top of this image with the 2 Pacific Hurricane/Typhoons down center:

Then you get to see the entire Mid to North Atlantic spiral in beautiful form:


And from time to time (like now) I still wonder why we don't hear of any southern hemisphere Atlantic hurricanes. Sure the Pacific has Typhoons that go south. Case in point the two currently dancing on the equatorial zone now. Anyways, here's the current Southern Atlantic with some sizable spiral zones:
