Many ways to root figs. I tried 4 ways and got several started. How many do you want? I'll send you twigs or you can find a local tree and steal some prunings.

Sean - what kind of figs do you grow?

DD#1 brought these home from school. they are a yellow fig when ripe and sweet. The squirrels, dogs and Crazy Lady love them. Guess who gets the least.

I don't remember what variety they are but their purple figs when ripe.
I never have pruned them back, they are about 16' tall.

Meant to say, she said these were Brown Turkey. Not the Black Mission that I was expecting. Brown Turkey isn't a yellow fig either. I have no idea what this is. But they grow and they are good.
I got mine from cuttings from a tree that was in my mother's yard when she was growing up in Alexandria, La....yeah, they live a long time. Mine are 30 years old now.

It didn't kill'em...they typically lose their leaves this time of year. I loss almost everyone I have on my place to oak wilt. :(
I understand live oak lose their leaves in spring, however, this is different.
The entire tree is brown, seems all the leaves are falling. I think its freeze damage.

Cut them off your existing fig trees. I've got 3 huge fig trees.
Cut'em, dip'em in root starter and put'em in a container of perlite and keep watered until they root.
I miss our fig tree (and lemon tree -167 lemons one year!!). Never even thought to take come cuttings when we sold and moved. Now, I'm starting over with everything green. One thing we learned with our fig tree - early spring, wrap a black or soaker hose through the tree and you'll get your harvest. Take the hose out afterwards. If you leave it up there all year, then next years squirrels and birds know it's harmless and you'll lose every fig the second they ripen.

The deer are the ones that get mine!
