feathered feet concern me. We have way too much mud for that to not be an issue.

Pretty bird. Brahma or another breed?
I didn't raise any feather feet birds for the longest, but I fell in love with langshans and brahmas. I generally don't have a problem with the feet, but we've had more standing water than usual.
He is a mixed breed. His father was a blue orpington & ameraucana mix, mother is a hatchery dark brahma. He is pretty impressive in size, and just an all around good rooster. I'm very fond of him, feathered feet and all.

The hen next to him is an average size naked neck.

I need to get more Naked Necks. I enjoyed the couple that I had. Whole lot calmer than the wild birds I've got now.

I love the ones I got from Ideal in Cameron. They have the real deal naked necks. The girl above was from a tractor supply bin. I'd love to mix naked necks with every breed.
I did get a son from her and my big boy. He was just rehomed at 8 months, but I think he will be as big as his father when grown.

Well......fudgecicles. coop STILL wet. Now what?
Ours is bubbling up from the ground like Jed's black gold. Of course we have so many underground springs.
I've never had so much water in my run! One corner has about 3" standing! I used the pine pellets and straw bales that I had put aside for spring cleaning. Our coop is raised by 8" so it didn't flood, but I let the flock out to free range. I put their feeders and water out in the sun for them. I've got fans running, but I don't think that will help the standing water much. I guess I'll be baling it out. We have more rain predicted Monday & Tuesday.
