My hens aren't bright. They can get out of the chicken yard, over the fence, but for some reason they can't figure out how to get back in. They will huddle under a tree until I open the gate for them. Sometimes even then, they can't figure it out. I hate to leave them in the run, though. It is very muddy in there. We are! Next 3 days is 50%+ chance and it's been raining hard off and on. Under a flood warning as well.
Went out and opened coop so they had a choice. Lol silly Dean followed me everywhere and waited on me opening gates to get through. Hes my smallest Golden Phoenix cockerell.
I can't stand to leave them in the run. Too many cockerells right now and they need the space to get away from each other. Dean is low man on the totem pole right now too. I tell ya tho, thg hey need to start growing webbing on their feet. So dang wet now.My hens aren't bright. I poured 2 1/2 inches from gauge earlier. I'm definitely feeling better. Hungry, first time in 4 days I wanna eat. I may make cabbage soup-thats what I'm craving.I hope you all are not getting as much rain as we are! This is ridiculous.

Likewise. I think I may have to dig a drainage ditch to divert some water. It seams that the back yard needs ground work something fierce. So much water that's not draining very fast.
