Dang!

And yeah I feel for anyone with out electricity during this heat. We are under sever weather warning just for the heat till Monday.

Was outside doing chicken chores this morning for less than an hour and was feeling it. Was sweating and getting a little light headed.

Wow! Is that the deadly kind?
No they aren't deadly, but they sure hurt like hell. One stung me years ago and my foot swelled so badly that I couldn't wear a shoe for a week.
It made me so sick that I vomited until I was dehydrated. That's rare for me, as nothing much makes me throw up other than pregnancy and food poisoning. I don't want a doctor's bill, so I keep an eye out for them.
I've had a black widows bite that was painful and costly, but it didn't hold a candle to the scorpion sting.

Yep, feels like wherever they sting you is on fire 🔥

Today was only 95 for us. We did have high humidity for here, but I didn't look at the percentage.
Finally mostly done with my experiment of hatching ducklings under hens. Out of the 12 that I originally gave to chickens, 2 quit, one was crushed during a fight between broody hens. 8 have hatched and are asleep under the goody broody hen (she is no longer broody, but momma hen-ing like a champ).
1 egg is 2-3 days out from hatching... Cause reasons. That egg is sitting under a different broody hen than it had been originally, as broody hen #2 tried to kill a chick earlier thos hatch.
I'm exhausted, but... Happy.
Here's ducklings in my improvised incubator.
