Why do chickens insist on being outside in the rain? Had to chase them down in the pouring rain. I got them back in the run. They have a coop, a covered run and an under the coop place. All three areas are completely dry. But no, they want to be frolicking around in the rain. 🤦‍♀️ Wet chickens kinda look creepy imo🤷‍♀️.

Edited to correct typo
Mine do the same thing.

Nature.
Rain isn't bad. Playing in the rain can be fun for a change and after the long dry spell, I want to play in the rain also. It might be better bug hunting. Or worms coming up for air.
Let the chickens be free!
Yesterday, I let them go about their business in the rain. Today I’m trying to keep them dry. It has been pouring two days in a row, the temp dropped and it’s windy. Don’t want them sick so I’m trying to get them to dry out today. They were sopping wet most of yesterday. Maybe I’m just being paranoid 🤷‍♀️

I worry about that as well. The temperature will be dropping dramatically soon after all this rain.
I was cold after chasing them and they had a respiratory infection earlier this year. It’ll be nicer weather but then comes the worries of winter. Should be easier than the heat? At least chickens are super insulated.

It started raining at about 12:30 this morning, we got 3-4 inches, FINALLY! My butternut squash is going crazy! I'm looking forward to this weekend, a couple projects outside without dripping sweat, and I think I see a cooler full of adult beverages in mine and the Hubby's future on a nice long side by side ride!
