Pretty exciting, if you can look outside, you'll see flashes of green light when the transformer blows!
Be careful, your on the side that gets tornados! ☹️
Poo yi!
I'm pretty sure I now know what it feels like to be inside a tornado for 5 straight hours.

That was nuts!

Of course we have no power, no fences and a rotten tree on the ground.

I'm good though.

No cell service yesterday. Today it is bad but much better. I can actually get online so I'm already feeling better.

Send us the electricity gods, please.

Glad you're ok!

As of midnight, last night, yes. We slept cool.

While I was setting up the generator and AC, the power surged a couple times and the neighbor's transformer blew out. Ka-pow.

Of course, after I get the generator running, the power comes back.

I lost a section of fence. Post broke at ground.
Neighbor lost 2 trees. We helped clear their driveway and get their generator running. Then temporaried a dog containment, piled branches.

Neighborhood had a tree land on a new truck. Different neighbor had tree on their house. Roof is damaged. Power lines down in the back of the hood.

The poor quail! Coops blew over and I stood them up and tied them to the trees. They were still blown off their footings. Chicken coop lost a section of roll roof. Time for a rebuild. I want a chick-a-saw mobile version. Another project for this year.

I learned the cell towers go to backup power for calls and sms texting only. Internet surfing is not priority, so it is disabled until the power is back.

The old telephone system is independently powered, so it would work if the other power was down. The new fiber optic version of internet requires each modem, switch and whatnot powered from the grid. We like our power.
