Texas

Hard freez coming for my area next week. Upper 20s feels like for over 6hrs.
We're getting it too. My weather app says the lows for Sunday - Thursday (that's all I can see right now) are going to be 27, 22, 21, 25, and 20. With at least Monday and Tuesday having freezing temps all day. 😳

Freezing rain predicted for Tues morning in our area 🥶 cold is bad enough, don't add wet stuff! 😕

Random question for my Texas folks... we had our heater break (3 out of 4 coils burnt out) and the AC/heater is almost 20 years old. Is 14k reasonable for a total replacement including some new ducting? (this older house has ducting going to no where and no ducts where we need it).

They seem like an honest family run company, licensed and insured and good reviews for 20 yrs of business.. but that's a crazy amount of money! Is this normal or are we getting scammed?!

Sounds high. Get two more bids.

That sounds about right. We are in the same situation. Heater went out 2 near 3 years ago bur AC is still going and it's almost 15+yrs old. We are looking ar mini splits tho to get electricity bill down.

Ouch! I'd like to say I'm glad it wasn't the AC that broke in the middle of August this timing isn't much better with possible snow and lows in the mid 20s coming.

It sounds about right to me, especially if you need new duct work.
