I guess either way it's irrelevant bc no one ever replied. Still trying to find birds. I hate to buy hatchery birds..

So one of the babies from this hatch is a week old and is already trying to crow. Just wow.

I hear ya, have you tried looking on eBay? If they are selling eggs, they might sell live birds, too!
I'm here in the Seguin area but don't raise chickens, only pheasants and quail. You might try putting 'flyer's' up at TSC or other local feed stores....which there are only a couple of other feed stores in Seguin.
Also, you might ask the Seguin High School FFA or the local 4-H club if they know of any sources.

Got done with preparing for this 'go around' of the Polar Vortex! Lots of folks getting propane today, as well as I was. Just hope we don't get any of the white stuff!

We have wood for the fireplace and will be warping pipes and adding tarps to the pens tomorrow.

Heater is still broken but have plenty of firewood and a couple extra space heaters. Going to drip faucets Monday night. Several inches of snow predicted?!
