I'd lost the habit of shaking out my boots, until I tugged on my mucks (sitting on the porch in October) and discovered a red wasp had leased it out!
Of course our new neighbors were driving by when I hit the ground screaming like a crazy person!

Years ago we attended a wedding near Boerne. It was night when we were leaving the rural, rustic reception hall. I kept hearing crunching as we walked and as I was packing up the kids, my husband turned on the headlights. The ground in front of the car was literally moving….swarm of tarantulas. Of course there was a lot of screaming.
