i had a gf once that broke up with me cuz she was skeerd of chicks!!!! she was given one for easter and loved it so hard that its EYES POPPED OUT!!!!
LMAO i then brought one on a date and chased her @ with it!!! :lau
i was 16 and ROLLIN!!!!!
she killed my chick when i tossed it at her face... unlike other girls who would run and hide she swung and SPLAT! there went my chick all over the wall! i think shes even more terrified of chicks now... lol im so EVIL!!!!

Lol! Scarred some one for life of fuzzy butts...id say its an accomplishment

So today I am starting with sprouting trays of wheat for the birds.. plus starting a fermented feed bucket. Didn't have the Braggs ACV.. so I pulled out some Alaskan Sourdough starter that I had stored in the freezer. Mixed it with some water.. a bit of game bird starter and layer crumbles. I figured once this gets fermenting well I can add more of the layer feed to it and move it to a bigger bucket.

i started with a bit of the gamebird because it's ground a bit finer.. so it should help the yeast get a jump start. We hardly ever have flour in the house or I would have added a bit of that too.

i also picked up a bag of oats.. may have to sprout / ferment some of that too to go into the mix. 640 pounds of feed.. and that's not going to last an entire week. I hope the fermented feed and sprouted grains help to cut back on the feed bill!

Way to go!

If anyone might be interested in a Splash Marans cockerel, PM me. I have 2 but only 4 pullets and it's just 1 too many boys in the mix for the girls. Good temperament, 7 1/2 months old. The splash do not lay as dark as the BCM's do, best I have had is about a 5.
